How to Tell if a Bee is Sleeping or Dead

- Will wake up if disturbed: If you gently touch a sleeping bee, it will wake up. A dead bee will not respond to touch.

What to Do if You Find a Bee That Looks Dead
If you find a bee that looks dead, there are a few things you can do to try to revive it. First, gently touch the bee to see if it wakes up. If it does not wake up, you can place it in a warm, sunny spot. This will help to warm the bee up and may help to revive it.
If the bee does not wake up after a few minutes, it is likely dead. You can dispose of the bee by placing it in a compost pile or burying it in the ground.
